Driver Qualifications

TXN Intermodal, Inc. has a very explicit driver qualification that must be met before any prospective owner/operator will be approved for placement on the active driver roster.

  1. Driver must be 23 years of age and be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
  2. Must have a valid Class A- CDL driver’s license.
  3. Must have a minimum of two (2) years verifiable truck driving experience (3 years experience if younger than 25 years of age).
  4. Must be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with the qualifications and examination requirements set forth in part 382.301, 391.41, and 391.11 of the US Department of Transportation Safety Regulations.
  5. Must have an acceptable M.V.R. with no more than two (2) moving violations or one (1) preventable/recordable accident in the last three years. NO DWI or suspended license in the last 10 years (all accidents will be considerate to be at fault unless the insured or driver can produce satisfactory evidence to show he/she was not at fault).
  6. Must have an acceptable PSP (pre-employment screening program) report. This report is the result of DOT Inspections for previous 3 years.
  7. Must have TWIC or enrolled and qualified for TWIC.
  8. A DOT drug test with a negative result is required before an applicant starts driving.
